A Little Bit About Me
Growing up in rural Eastern Oregon, I have grown a strong passion for agriculture as well as supporting my community. Because of this, I was involved in 4-H, FFA, Rodeo, Student Council, as well as being a rodeo queen for two rodeo courts. Throughout all of these experiences and leadership roles, I found my passion for helping people. This led to my future career choice of becoming a dental hygienist.

Why I Chose Oregon Tech and My Major
I have always been very passionate about helping people, so when it came to choosing a major, I knew that the healthcare field was what I wanted to go into. When I job shadowed at a few dental offices, it immediately clicked, and I knew that it was what I was meant to do. When I started talking to hygienists about what school they recommended, they immediately said Oregon Tech.

My Influential Professors
All of my professors here at Oregon Tech have been amazing. Each of them is dedicated to helping their students achieve not only in school but in life as well. In particular, Tanya McVay has been very influential to me. She is originally from Russia and then eventually moved to the U.S. Not only does she have an incredible history, but she is very knowledgeable about the human body. She always goes above and beyond for her students and is very dedicated to giving the best education that she can.

My Greatest Learning Experience At Oregon Tech
Coming to Oregon Tech truly changed my life. Moving away from my hometown all by myself helped me grow tremendously. Learning how to advocate for myself, new time and money management skills, as well as learning to make new friends all contributed to this growth. Oregon Tech has not only educated me through my studies but also made me into a better person.

My Plans After Graduation
After graduating from Oregon Tech as a registered Dental Hygienist, I plan to move back to my hometown to serve the community that has shaped me into who I am today. I'm looking forward to my future and can't wait to contribute to the community's overall health.
